In 1963 with the agrement of the Turkish and American government, ACG administration decided to have an A.V Center which was a new trend in education , for The American College for Girls, sponsored by A.I.D and Mrs Elizabeth Dodge Clarke.
Around 1966 Mr H.L Sidelman came from U.S.A. inorder to organize the center on the 3.rd floor of Gould Hall he hired Cavit Yildirim as technician. Also AGC administration. decided to have a Turkish Director for this center. After some discussion with Dr. Hadsell, Director of A.I.D Communication Center Ankara, decided to send Aydin Ungan to Arizona State University for master degree on A.V in education. Sept.10, 1968 Aydin Ungan started as A.V Director.
The aim of having an A.V Center was to support teaching with different type of A.V materials and equipment:
1969 first color positive film development started.
1972 Video and TV became one of the important events in the A.V Center after the merging.
1981 Cemal Barutçu became responsible from technical services of the RC A.V Center.
1986 Cemal Barutcu went to U.S. New York University to study advenced film production.
1987 Aydin Ungan retired and Cemal Barutçu became director of the RC A.V.Center.
1990 all the activities in A.V.Center started to use computer systems including Video and Filmediting.
1996 A.V Center transferred to the basement of Mitchell Hall as totally moderninized.
